Notesy for Dropbox App Reviews

Good and simple notebook

Notesy for me is a simple and good way to manage my notes. I can easily search for a specific file. I can edit a note using Markdown (which I use for all my notes), and the editor interface is not great but has nice features such as the extra keyboard row. I dont use the Markdown preview feature much, so I cant talk about it.

The best notetaking app in the store

I tried all the simplenotes, plaintexts, elements... in the AppStore but nothing comes close to Notesy!

almost awesome

I love the app itself, the dead simple functionality is well worth the buck. but Im not terribly pleased by the look of the app or even its icon. Id prefer either a simple white or something a little fancier than just solid texture backgrounds.

Sooooo close

Minimalist and does what it says. Rjdt has a point... I would like to see auto detection of information incorporated somewhat.... Oh and adding video and picture support would be nice. Nice job!

Very fast, reliable Dropbox notes app

The major selling point for me here is how fast this app is at work. Its speedier than all other Dropbox-based notes apps Ive used, and its also quicker than Simplenote on my 3GS. I do think the icon and the bottom bar of the notes view could use a bit of work, though. The icon feels too cartoony for my tastes (despite the playful app name) and the notes view bottom bar could look a little more professional (Elements from Second Gear has some fantastic buttons). However, if youre just after functionality, then Notesy will not disappoint. Oh, and did I mention its really fast?

A Great Notes App!

This app is awesome! Id been using plaintext for a while now, but always had syncing issues with it... Notesy Has a far better syncing system, and is a very fast loading/functioning app! The only thing I would ask for would be folders, but the dev says theyre coming in a future update! Also, to all the reviewers who said they didnt like the look of the app, all it takes is a couple if seconds tinkering with the settings to customize the look of the whole app.

Its great!

If you love dropbox then get this.

This is the one.

I moved on from Simplenote to Notesy. This app is minimalist, fast and Dropbox integration/sync with Notational Velocity makes this app nearly perfect.

Three stars for no folders

Ive just got the app today. A nice app, the syncing woks really great, as opposed to another app that Ive recently used and lost a few notes. Notesy doesnt even have a problem syncing notes with the same title: it just adds the word "conflict" to one of such notes and leaves the rest up to the user, who then can delete or rename the note(s), which does make me feel more confident that I wont lose anything barring my own errors. What I also appreciate is the Edit button to prevent the user from accidentally deleting a note. However, with the amount of notes I take, I cannot use it without folders--I wish that were clearly stated in the Description.

Perfect simplicity!

Exactly what I wanted, works perfectly! The design is simple and easy to understand. Everything works just like you would expect. Far easier and far more useful than the 1,000,001 tasklist aps. Just have a notepad up on your phone and computer and keep it perfectly in sync.

Does what it says it does

So far, I love it. Its fast; easy to set up and get going. It has a refresh for the impatient. It syncs automatically between all three of my devices. It supports folders/categories and searching (neither is mentioned in the description and they should be). I also just discovered that It supports sub folders! I was hesitant to purchase this because I wasnt sure if it would do either of those things and theyre important to me, and after being fairly perturbed by another note-taking app, I decided Id give this one a go. No regrets. Its simple, has documentation, and is incredibly intuitive. The only things Id like to see added is the ability to move files from one folder to another (or into a folder) once theyve been created, and to be able to rename a folder. Renaming a file took me a few seconds to figure out--just tap on the title while in the note, but this doesnt appear to work for the folders.

awesome app

A truly slick app - when used in combination with dropbox as in: notesy <-> dropbox <-> notational velocity makes for rapid, accurate, and handy note taking. This app is fast, beautiful, simple, great search and organizing capability and has true sync rather than upload/download to dropbox; great viewing of TXT files and when used in combo with dropbox and a great desktop text editor (i.e. notesy <-> dropbox <-> notational velocity) it becomes really powerful by being simple and ultraportable and efficient. A specific comment re comparison to other apps: 1) write2 - is cumbersome in that you have to select each file before it becomes sync able; if you drop files in drop box, they dont appear in your app, 2) simplenote - makes you pay to remove adds, which I did, only to find out after using it for 2 months that it crashes frequently and is super slow with searching - OVERALL NOTESY STILL IS THE BEST APP! Keep up the great work! Support for 1) tabs on the keyboard (i.e. indent forward or back) and 2) RTF (plain) would be great and appreciated.

Latest update includes one major step backward

Have loved and promoted Notesy for years, but latest update is cooling my ardor. In the latest update, the fresh-page button was removed from page view and installed in list view. Now, everytime one needs to start composing a fresh note, one has to back out to list view to find the fresh-page button. This is counterintuitive and frustrating. This needs a fix as fast as possible.

Just switched from PlainText ...

... and I LOVE notesy! Thank you SOOO much for the "Windows Friendly" option - completely saves my workflow. Great app!

Great and simple

Its a great and simple note taking app, that quickly syncs with dropbox, just launch and go, very slick. Great replacement for the default app. One thing that i would really like to see implemented is an ability to parse links without having to hit the Share -> View Links button, and bonus if you can do the same for addresses and phone numbers!

Love it

Great app. Markdown handling is awesome, really great support. Good offline support for in the subway, good Syncing. Icon looks a bit dirty next to the bright whites of ios 7, though.

Delivers

Great application for managing to-do lists, or any other note or mark down file in plain text format with Dropbox. Icon on homescreen and icons within the app could use some work to better match iOS7 feel.

Current version is bugged

This was my number one note taking app. Now there is a display bug. I’ve sent a note to the developer a while ago and got no reply. Please fix it!

Great, but...

This is basically what I want in an editor. I used to use PlainText, but then they disabled the ability to edit *.markdown files in recent updates. So I was pleased when I found this, and used it for quite a while. But theres an issue when you have a slightly longer document (mine was at 5000 word). Trying to scroll up to look earlier in the document will keep pulling you down to the bottom. Its basically unusable at that point. So points for being polished and lovely, and mostly working, but a few stars off for a show-stopping bug.

Good stuff

Great. Went through a bunch of simple Dropbox text editors and this one was the only one that struck the right balance of simplicity and useful features. Well designed and refined. No ads, no bugs. Been around for a while so it knows what its doing.
